How complex is it to learn the control system?
How long users need to use the control without errors always depends on the individual. Usually, after a short period of 30 to 120 minutes, users get a very good feel for how much they need to perform head movements and how quickly a control triggers.
How much support do users need when using HEADCUBE®?
Especially when using the tablet for the first time, users often need support from outsiders to help them create a user profile and calibrate the control angles. After that, the support required depends largely on whether the tablet is permanently placed near the user or is set up during use. If the tablet is on the lock screen and cannot be unlocked via voice command, it must first be activated by an outsider and the app started if necessary.
Can I see what needs users select when I am not in the room?
A history function allows outsiders to read out the needs selected by the user directly on the tablet. If desired, the needs can also be sent to other end devices in real time via direct message.
What about data protection?
The camera required for control does not store images or videos of the users at any time. Furthermore, we do not record which functions users call up and how often. Accordingly, we protect the personal rights of the users. Basically, the application is DSGVO compliant.
Is the HEADCUBE® also suitable for people with dyskinetic movement disorders?
Basically, yes. By being able to set a loading time for how long users:inside have to perform a head movement to trigger a control, we can avoid unintentional controls due to dyskinetic movements.
How can I download the app?
Unfortunately, HEADCUBE® is not yet available in the App Store or Google Play Store. The App is currently in the beta test phase. If you are already interested in the app, you can get access to the beta version in advance. Simply contact us at info@headcube.de
How do I get access to the app?
Once you have installed the app on your device, you can create your own profile and start using HEADCUBE®.
Can I also use the app on my smartphone?
No, that is not yet possible.
How much does HEADCUBE® cost?
The use of the app is free of charge.
Can several users use HEADCUBE® at the same time?
With a user profile, you can use the HEADCUBE® simultaneously on several devices. Several users can use the app on one device, not at the same time, but after logging out and logging in with the corresponding user profile.
Do I need a specific tablet?
No, only a front camera is required. All common devices have the necessary technical requirements to use HEADCUBE®.
Can HEADCUBE® also be controlled with the eyes?
Eye tracking in the actual sense, i.e., control by "looking" at desired fields, is not possible for the time being. However, control by closing the eyes is available with the help of the scanning process.
How exactly does the scanning control work?
The scanning control first selects which direction of movement is most comfortable for the user (up, down, right, left, turn right, turn left or close eyes). Then the speed of the scanner is set. The scanner is a colored border that selects the 4 fields one after the other in a clockwise direction. To move to a field, the user must perform his predefined movement as long as the field is marked in color by the scanner. The procedure is comparable to a slide show where a user clicks 'stop' to view a picture.
Can I customize the app to suit me?
The user interface, i.e. which functions are displayed, cannot be selected individually at the moment. In contrast, the control can be adapted to individuals. This is done by taking into account which movements users can perform and how well the respective movement is possible. We have developed several control systems, which have different functionalities depending on the number of movements of the user. Furthermore, the sensitivity of each movement can be adjusted, i.e. how strong and how long users have to perform a movement to trigger a control.
